Stripes

South Africa, Kruger National Park, Lower Sabi,  extraordinary, iconic and  steeped in legend and history; with vast landscapes, multiple eco-zones,  and spectacular African wildlife.   The stripes are a form of disruptive coloration which breaks up the outline of the body. At dawn or in the evening, when their predators are most active, zebras look indistinct and may confuse predators by distorting distance.   Also a  number of zebras standing or moving close together may appear as one large animal, making it more difficult for  lions to pick out any single zebra to attack.  The zebra's base color is black with white stripes and bellies.
